day trip to France

It still sounds a bit funny to us --- but we decided to go to France yesterday to get a taste (literally & figuratively) of the Christmas markets in Colmar. After a crowded two hour train ride we arrived & followed the crowds which led us into the old town square. The Christmas market booths were set up on cramped cobblestone streets spread out all over the town. The day was chilly, the streets packed & we had to piddle BAD (pleasant way to start the day, check). Unfortunately, many of these issues exacerbated themselves as the day grew on, the crowds grew thicker & our toes & fingers colder (luckily, we were able to take care of the piddle situation for .30Euro in a "delightful phone booth style" toilet).
Despite the crowds & the chill, we got to enjoy some delicacies such as CHURROS (big yum!) and some mystery meat sandwich which joe certainly enjoyed while I gave him dirty looks for eating something so sinister looking. We purchased a few cute items, experienced another new town & got to spend a lovely Saturday together (although we both had our unlovely moments)....you all are shocked by this I am sure.
We are getting into the Christmas spirit here in Zurich & are looking so forward to sharing it with you all in T - 6 days!
