Happy Birfday 'Merica!

Hope everyone is enjoying some burgers & beers, perhaps a parade & some flag waving today! Here's a bit of interesting wisdom from a fav WSJ author in the Duchek household, Peggy Noonan who speaks in her most recent editorial about the writing of the Declaration of Independence (and how the Continental Congress edited the f out of Jefferson's work (not P. Noonan's words;), similar to what Joe would like to do to my masterpieces sometimes). She wraps up her article with a plug for us (me: the writer, Joe: the editor): "And so to all writers (would-be, occasional and professional) and all editors too, down through our history: Happy 234th Independence Day. And to our British cousins: Nice growing old with you." I like thinking of the Brits as being our cousins, certainly not nearly as cool as our real flesh and blood cousins, nor with as nice of teefs, but with cooler accents at least!
